Contribution from Stoccs secures future of technology classroom in Dinxperlo

Before the turn of the year, it was announced that the Foundation for the Support of the Christian College Schaersvoorde (STOCCS) had agreed to an annual contribution of €5,000 for the accommodation of the Dinxperlo Technology Classroom in 'De Kiem'. This contribution is valid for a period of four years.

The technology classroom for primary education in Dinxperlo and the surrounding area has been located on Europastraat for many years. After Schaersvoorde vacated the building in the summer of 2023, the future of the technology classroom was uncertain for some time.

It was previously announced that the municipality will transfer part of the former Schaersvoorde building to Stichting De Kiem. This building will house, among other things, the Technology Classroom, Psalm150, Fanfarentalenten, and the Baptist Church of Dinxperlo. With STOCCS' commitment, technical education in Dinxperlo is now secured for the long term.

"The technology classroom makes an important contribution to the development and talent discovery of primary school pupils in the region," says the STOCCS Foundation. "With this contribution, we want to help make this valuable educational provision possible in the coming years."

The municipality is also positive about the development. "We are pleased that this collaboration will give the building on Europastraat a sustainable purpose," says Alderman van Lochem. "It's great that several social initiatives are coming together here and that technical education for children in Dinxperlo will be preserved."

Over the course of the four-year period, consideration will be given to how to deal with the period after 2029.
