Children's Mayor

On Monday, June 29, 2026, Jack Bruggink was elected children’s mayor of the municipality of Aalten from among seven candidates. The children’s mayor is appointed for one year. The children’s mayor attends various meetings alongside Mayor Stapelkamp.

Infill Children's Council

Niek Wensink, Jurre Wisselink, Ferre Tieltjes, Julian Houwers, Jasmijn Bruil, and Evy Neerhof, together with the brand-new children’s mayor Jack Bruggink, make up this year’s children’s council. Under the guidance of youth workers Jolien Stronks and Michel Stronks from Figulus Welzijn, the Children’s Council helps develop ideas for sports and cultural after-school activities for elementary school children in the municipality of Aalten.
