Children's Mayor

On Monday, June 30, 2025, Emma Rouwhorst was elected children's mayor of the municipality of Aalten from five candidates. The children's mayor is appointed for one year. The children's mayor attends various meetings together with Mayor Stapelkamp.

Infill Children's Council

Tijn Waalder, Sep van der Lecq, Levi van Rixtel, and Faas Woordes, together with the newly appointed children's mayor Emma, form this year's children's council, also known as the after-school activities council (NAR). Under the guidance of youth workers Jolien Stronks and Michel Stronks from Figulus Welzijn, the children's council contributes ideas about sporting and cultural after-school activities for children at primary schools in the municipality of Aalten.
