Children's Mayor

On Monday, June 30, 2025, Emma Rouwhorst was elected from among five candidates as children's mayor of the municipality of Aalten. The children's mayor is appointed for one year. Together with Mayor Stapelkamp, the children's mayor attends several meetings.

Infill Children's Council

This year, Tijn Waalder, Sep van der Lecq, Levi van Rixtel and Faas Woordes, together with brand-new children's mayor Emma, form the children's council also known as the after-school activities council (NAR). Led by youth workers Jolien Stronks and Michel Stronks of Figulus Welzijn, the children's council thinks about sporting and cultural after-school activities for children from elementary school in the municipality of Aalten.
