Hotline Concerned Behavior

You are concerned about your neighbor, friend or someone in your family who may be in a troubling situation. There is no urgency, but you want to express your concerns. If so, you can call the national Concerned Behavior Hotline at 0800 - 1205.

In an emergency situation, always call 911.

How do you recognize misunderstood behavior?

The group of people who exhibit confused or misunderstood behavior is diverse. Sometimes people get stuck in their lives but do not ask for help. They may be individuals with addictions, intellectual disabilities or other mental health problems.

There may also be debt, homelessness, a dirty house or social isolation. Often an accumulation of problems causes people to (threaten to) lose their grip on their lives. As a result, they may exhibit confused or misunderstood behavior.

What is perceived as a concern by someone does not necessarily apply to someone else. Do you see reason to raise your concerns? Do not hesitate to contact the Hotline. Your concerns will be heard and the person you are calling about will receive appropriate help if needed.

What happens when you call the national Concerned Behavior Hotline?

When you call the national hotline, you will be connected to the hotline for the Achterhoek region. An employee at the hotline will then give you advice. Or investigates whether help can be offered to the person you are calling about. You will also receive advice on what steps you can take yourself to help this person.

The regional hotline may see reason to explore the situation further. The hotline's expert will discuss with you how the report will be handled further. It is good to consider in advance whether you want to remain anonymous to the person about whom you have concerns.
