Receiving digital mail from the municipality
As a resident of the municipality of Aalten, you can receive an increasing amount of mail from the municipality electronically. In addition to municipal taxes, this now also applies to many letters regarding the Wmo and youth services. Letters from the Civil Affairs Department will follow later.
Would you prefer to receive your mail digitally? If so, all you need to do is log in to MijnOverheid and check the box next to the municipality of Aalten. You’ll then receive these letters in the secure Message Box on MijnOverheid of on paper. Of course, you can also continue to choose to receive paper mail. In that case, you don’t need to do anything.
Digital or on paper
With the MijnOverheid Message Box, you MijnOverheid all your municipal mail in one secure, organized place. You decide whether you want to receive your mail digitally or on paper. You will not receive the same letter in both formats.
You can change your preference at any time. Would you like to receive paper letters again? If so, you can easily change this through MijnOverheid.
Here's how to set this up
Go to MijnOverheid log in with your DigiD. In the settings, select the organizations from which you want to receive digital mail. Then check the box next to the municipality of Aalten and save the change. From that point on, you will receive your municipal mail in the secure Message Box on MijnOverheid. You will receive an email when new mail is waiting for you.
Paper Letters Are Also Available Digitally
Many paper letters from the social services sector will now include a personal access code. This allows you to open the letter directly online, without having to log in.
The access code is unique to that letter. Only someone who has both the letter and the corresponding code can view the digital version. This ensures that your information remains well protected.
With the digital version, you can have the letter read aloud, translated into various languages, or displayed in simple language. This helps us make our services easier and more accessible for everyone.
More choice and convenience
With these options, we’re giving residents more choice in how they receive and use mail from the municipality. You can choose what works best for you: digitally via MijnOverheid on paper.
