Help us shape the future of natural gas-free living

Soon, all households in the municipality of Aalten will receive a letter inviting them to participate in a survey on natural gas-free living and sustainable heating.

In the Netherlands, we are gradually phasing out the use of natural gas. This means that in the future, we will heat our homes differently and cook without gas. The municipality of Aalten is also working on this transition.

The municipality is using this survey to better understand what matters to residents. What are your thoughts on natural gas-free living? What concerns do you have? And what kind of support do you need?

“The transition to sustainable heating affects everyone. That’s why we think it’s important to involve residents in this process and hear what matters to them,” said Alderman .

About the questionnaire

All households will receive a letter explaining the survey and providing a personal code to participate. This code ensures that the survey is conducted accurately and reliably and prevents duplicate entries. The survey is being conducted in collaboration with other municipalities in the Achterhoek region by Populytics, an independent agency affiliated with Delft University of Technology. Other adults in the household may also participate, without a personal code. Responses will be processed anonymously.

The questionnaire takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. You can complete the questionnaire through June 16, 2026, at achterhoekwarmte.raadpleging.net.

Chance to win a gift card

As a thank you for completing the survey, 10 gift cards worth €50 will be raffled off among the participants.
