Help us brainstorm ideas for emergency response centers and emergency preparedness
What if there is a major power outage and the internet, phone service, or other utilities go down? In emergency situations, residents are expected to take care of themselves as much as possible for the first 72 hours. At the same time, the municipality of Aalten is also preparing for this. One of the measures we are working on is the establishment of emergency support centers: places where residents can go during an emergency for information and emergency assistance.

We previously informed you about the preparations for emergency support centers in our municipality. As part of this effort, we are working on a pilot emergency support center at De Kiem (the former Schaersvoorde building) in Dinxperlo. This is part of a pilot project designed to investigate how emergency support centers can function in practice and what is required to make them work. Due to its location on the border, the municipality of Aalten is also focusing within the pilot on cooperation with Germany, where emergency support centers have already been established.
Survey via ‘U Spreekt’
Another part of the pilot is to take into account what residents consider important. We have created a questionnaire for this purpose. We would like to hear your thoughts on emergency support centers and emergency preparedness.
Participants in our resident panel “U Spreekt” have already received a personal invitation to complete the survey. Have you already answered the questions? If so, we sincerely thank you. Are you not a member of our resident panel but would like to share your opinion? You can! Completing the survey takes only a few minutes.
Please fill out the questionnaire here: www.uspreekt.nl/vgnqnd/open
At the end of the questionnaire, you can indicate whether you would like to contribute your ideas to the municipality on a regular basis and become a member of the resident panel. This is entirely optional. Even if you do not become a member, we will use your responses regarding emergency support centers and emergency preparedness.
