Presentation of monitor on industrial estates in the Achterhoek region

The development of business parks is of great importance to economic dynamism and employment in the Achterhoek region. That is why the eight municipalities in the Achterhoek region and the province of Gelderland have made agreements, which are laid down in the Regional Business Locations Program (RPW) Achterhoek 2024-2026. Halfway through the term of these agreements, an interim update will be published: the business park monitor.
All municipalities are actively developing new business parks, because existing sites are sold out and companies cannot grow any further. Expansion is essential to maintain employment and continue to offer companies room to grow. Companies continue to expand and are looking for plots in local and regional business parks such as De Laarberg and the A18 Business Park. The monitor recommends facilitating these expansion opportunities, despite challenges such as the overloaded power grid.
Recently, the monitor was presented by the eight municipalities to Deputy Helga Witjes at the family business Waterkracht in Varsseveld. For more than 50 years, Waterkracht has been producing high-quality, sustainable cleaning machines for various industrial applications, including weed control machines that drive through villages and streets. Companies such as Waterkracht form the core of the Achterhoek economy and employment.
