Retiring Alderman Kok Nominated in Westervoort
After sixteen years as Alderman the municipality of Aalten, Ted Kok is moving to the municipality of Westervoort. His inauguration as Alderman will Alderman there on May 6.

He had previously indicated that he would step down after this term on the council. With this new move, however, he has decided—sooner than expected—to continue his career in local government.
Extensive track record
Ted Kok has served as Alderman Aalten since 2010 and, prior to that, for sixteen years in Didam (later the municipality of Montferland). He has thus been dedicated to local government for more than three decades.
Visible results in Aalten and the Achterhoek region
In the municipality of Aalten, he was responsible for a broad portfolio, including spatial development, housing, agriculture and landscape, economic affairs, and finance. Under his leadership, significant strides were made in housing construction and area development. The redevelopment of Dinxperlo’s town center is considered one of the most significant and visible developments in this regard. In addition, he played a key role in making strategic financial decisions for the municipality’s future.
Ted Kok was also active at the regional level. As a member of the Achterhoek Board, he was committed to addressing shared challenges in the areas of housing, real estate, and the economy in the Achterhoek region.

Ted Kok is known as a dedicated and approachable leader, with an eye for both residents and business owners, and with the ability to translate complex challenges into practical solutions.
We regret that he is leaving the municipality of Aalten, but we are grateful to him for his many years of dedication, experience, and commitment to our municipality and its residents. With his departure, Aalten bids farewell to an experienced administrator who has devoted himself heart and soul to the municipality.
At the same time, we wholeheartedly wish him well in this new venture. With his extensive experience and dedication, he will also be of great value in Westervoort.
