Update on expansion of Aalten business park

The area southwest of the existing business park and north of Keizers Brook is designated for development.

Council agrees to proposed study

The Aalten municipality wants to create additional space for business lots near the Aalten core, southwest of business park 't Broek and north of Keizersbeek.

The proposed site is promising, but deeper studies on traffic, hydrology and ecology, among others, are needed to identify possible obstacles. On Dec. 17, the City Council approved the proposal to conduct further studies on this site. Local residents and interest groups will be closely involved in the further sketching of the area so that all interests are carefully considered.

Expansion of the business park is necessary because of the growing demand for business space. Research shows that at least 11 acres of net business park near the Aalten core is needed to retain businesses within the municipal boundaries and stimulate employment and economic growth.
