Aaltenseweg and Europastraat are in need of renewal. The sewers are outdated and the current traffic situation around the school is unsafe. A reconstruction is therefore badly needed on the one hand, but at the same time offers opportunities to make it a beautiful green living environment. In this way we make an even more beautiful place where you can live safely and enjoy going to school or to the sports club.

What are we going to do?

In the construction team with the municipality of Aalten, Dusseldorp ISM and Okra, a new design for Aaltenseweg and Europastraat will be made with all stakeholders. In that design we will look at the wishes, ideas and suggestions of those involved and we will deal with themes such as traffic, safety, greening and climate adaptation. The sewers will also be renewed.

Global planning

  • Spring 2023 - The construction team sets the schedule the process.
  • Fall 2023 - Several public participation evenings where stakeholders may contribute ideas to the sketch design and respond to the preliminary design.
  • Early 2024 - preparation of final design, followed by implementation design and preparation of final budget.
  • Late 2024, early 2025 - Once the final budget is approved by the City Council, implementation will begin.

Several projects are currently underway in Dinxperlo that have various interfaces with each other. Work on the center, the Allee and the Heelweg are also being carried out by Dusseldorp. An important advantage in coordinating the work and ensuring the accessibility of the center and the various streets. To the right, we give an overview of the different phases we are going through during the project and give an overall time indication.

Please note! This is only an indication, you cannot derive any further rights from this schedule.

How do we proceed?

Phase 1: Design

For the creation of a design, several think-aloud evenings are organized so that we can create a design together with residents and stakeholders.
Okra landscape architects will use the input from these consultation evenings to create a sketch design. This design will be presented during a second evening from which a preliminary design (VO) will be made followed by a final design (DO).

Phase 2: Work preparation

After the final design is determined, the construction team creates an implementation design and the final budget is prepared. Once the budget is approved by the City Council, construction begins.

Phase 3: implementation

Work on your street is being done in the implementation phase. This is accompanied by inconvenience. Consider, for example, the sewer work; during this work, the street will be open, making the homes temporarily inaccessible to car traffic. We try to organize the work so that the inconvenience is limited as much as possible.
