Nearly 330 new homes for Aalten and Dinxperlo

On December 16, 2025, the Municipal Executive of Aalten decided to proceed with two major housing projects. These projects involve the redevelopment of the Nijverheidsweg (industrial) site in Aalten and the development of the new residential area 't Beggelder in Dinxperlo. Together, these projects will deliver almost 330 new homes in various types and price ranges, making an important contribution to meeting the housing needs in both towns.

Redevelopment of Nijverheidsweg, Aalten

At Nijverheidsweg , temporarily used as a thrift store, 69 homes will be built. The plan consists of a mix of apartments, studios, terraced houses, lifetime homes, back-to-back houses, and semi-detached houses. A large proportion of the homes (81%) will be affordable, including 26% social housing. The homes will be carefully integrated into the surroundings, with a striking apartment complex at the entrance to the neighborhood and a central square-like courtyard structure.
The initiator of this redevelopment is Woonstaete.

New residential area 't Beggelder, Dinxperlo

In Dinxperlo, the residential area 't Beggelder is being developed with a maximum of 260 homes for various target groups. The plan is built around a robust green framework that connects to the landscape and the existing residential environment. The design offers flexibility for various types of homes and focuses on sustainable, future-proof construction principles such as climate adaptation, water management, and biodiversity.
The initiators of 't Beggelder are Klomps Bouwbedrijf and KlaassenGroep.

Alderman :

"With these two projects, we are taking a major step toward meeting the housing needs in our municipality: nearly 330 homes for Aalten and Dinxperlo. This represents a significant contribution to the 900 homes that the municipality of Aalten will need over the next ten years. We are creating a varied range of options for everyone: from social housing to the private sector. It's great that we are making such progress and creating livable neighborhoods for now and the future."

Both environmental plans are now being submitted for approval as drafts. Everyone has the opportunity to submit their comments during the public consultation period. The municipal council will then decide on the final adoption of the plans. Once this decision has been made, the construction projects can, in principle, actually start in the second half of 2026.
