You already have a budget management account with the Bureau of Financial Support (BvFO). Your first contact is then always your budget manager at the BvFO. They can help you with many things about your finances. You can also always drop by the municipal office in Aalten on Thursday mornings between 9:00 and 12:30. Then your contact person has consultation hours there. Make an appointment for this.

What should I do myself?

Budget management is somewhat different from protective custody. If you have budget management, you still have to do some things yourself. You remain responsible for your own finances. This means that you have to open and read your mail yourself. The bills that need to be paid must also be submitted to your BvFO contact person. You can do this by e-mail. You can also send the bill to your contact via My Money Matters. You should also provide the information your BvFO contact person needs as soon as possible. They will always request this information from you by email or letter.

Note!

Both the Municipality of Aalten and the BvFO will never ask you for your login information to "My Money Matters"!

Debts?

Do you have debts? With budget management, in principle, nothing is done with your debts yet. First, budget management focuses on regaining peace and stability in your financial situation. If it is possible within your budget and necessary, payment arrangements are made, but no active contact is maintained with creditors. This means that debts initially remain, and possibly grow larger. No matter how annoying: bailiffs can still knock on your door. Becoming debt free comes when a debt settlement can be started.
