Sustainability Award 2026
The municipality of Aalten is calling on residents, organizations, and associations to submit inspiring sustainable initiatives for the 2026 Sustainability Award. With this award, the municipality aims to highlight inspiring examples that contribute to a future-proof and sustainable community.
Within the municipality of Aalten, efforts toward sustainability are being pursued in many different ways. These include projects that contribute to the energy transition, climate adaptation, the circular economy, or biodiversity. From energy conservation and the reuse of materials to projects that create more green spaces and nature: all existing initiatives that make a valuable contribution to a more sustainable Aalten are eligible.
You can register through August 31
Residents, organizations, and associations can either submit their own initiatives or nominate initiatives by others. These should be existing initiatives within the municipality of Aalten that serve as an inspiring example for others. Submissions can be made through August 31, 2026, via gemeente@aalten.nl.
Nominations and Announcement
Three candidates will be nominated from among all the submissions. They will be evaluated based on their contribution to sustainability and their role as role models within the municipality. The winner of the 2026 Sustainability Award will receive a check in the amount of €500 to support the initiative. The winner will be announced during the Municipality of Aalten’s Sustainability Day on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the municipal yard in Aalten.
