Euregio, citizen advisory

What is it?

Information office for citizens and businesses

In the course of European integration, the German-Dutch border has become barely visible. However, the systems do not merge seamlessly. Sometimes this has advantages, but some differences can hinder further integration of the border region. The differences in legislation, taxation, and social security raise many questions and also cause problems. The EUREGIO has therefore set up an information office for citizens and businesses: the GrensInfoPunt.

Advice for cross-border commuters

Citizens and businesses can contact EUREGIO for personal advice about working, living, or studying in a neighboring country. The advisors also provide advice to students who want to do an internship in the neighboring country. They also give advice on the recognition of diplomas or the admission requirements for various courses and provide information on health insurance and pensions. They explain the applicable collective labor agreements and provide information on buying real estate in the neighboring country. For example, what are the rights and obligations of the buyer and what tax aspects need to be taken into account?
