Municipality of Aalten takes important step in implementing Dinxperlo Center Vision

Alderman Kok: “I am delighted that this next step has been taken. It brings us another step closer to realizing a new supermarket, hardware store, and homes on Anholtseweg Heelweg. I expect the process to run smoothly and quickly, so that we can start construction this year. This is a wonderful and positive development on the outskirts of Dinxperlo's city center.”

Anholtseweg Subarea 1)

A new supermarket measuring approximately 2,200 m² and a DIY store measuring approximately 1,600 m² Anholtseweg on the former industrial site on Anholtseweg . The supermarket will move from its current location at Heelweg to this new site. Parking spaces will also be created for the shops and the new homes. The businesses at Anholtseweg and 10 will remain on the site.
Six new homes, consisting of terraced houses and semi-detached houses, will be built on the east side of the site. The existing company houses at Grensstraat will be retained and converted into regular homes.

Heelweg (Subarea 2)

The supermarket function will disappear from the location at Heelweg . Instead, new homes will be built here, in line with the transformation of this part of the city center.

Contribution to the Dinxperlo Center Vision

This project is a concrete implementation of the Dinxperlo Center Vision. The center vision includes the ambition to optimize the range of shopping options. This involved explicitly looking at suitable locations in and on the edge of the center, including the relocation of the supermarket from Heelweg Anholtseweg.

Procedure

The proposed developments do not fit within the current environmental plan. Therefore, an environmental plan amendment has been initiated for both sub-areas. With this integrated area development, the municipality of Aalten is focusing on a future-proof center, with enhanced shopping facilities, new homes, and improved spatial quality for Dinxperlo.
