Waste separation in the municipality of Aalten

Residents of the municipality of Aalten offer their waste separately. Below you will find information about collection within built-up areas (low-rise and high-rise buildings) and rural area.

You live within the built-up area (low-rise)

At your residence you have:

  • a container with an orange lid for PMD packaging (plastic packaging, metal packaging, and beverage cartons);
  • a container with a green lid for organic waste (vegetable, fruit, and garden waste);
  • a container with a blue lid for paper and cardboard;
  • A blue box for HHW (Household Hazardous Waste);
  • a ROVA pass for an underground container for residual waste.

You live within the built-up area (high-rise buildings)

At your residence you have:

  • A container with a green lid for organic waste (vegetable, fruit, and garden waste). Sometimes for your home alone, sometimes a container together with other residents;
  • A blue box for HHW (Household Hazardous Waste);
  • A ROVA pass for the underground container for residual waste. Depending on where you live, there may also be an underground container for pmd packaging (plastic packaging, metal packaging and drink cartons and/or for paper and cardboard.

You live in the rural area

At your residence you have:

  • a container with an orange lid for PMD packaging (plastic packaging, metal packaging, and beverage cartons);
  • a container with a green lid for organic waste (vegetable, fruit, and garden waste);
  • a container with a blue lid for paper and cardboard;
  • a gray container for residual waste; and
  • A blue box for HHW (Household Hazardous Waste);

General information

The green, orange, and blue containers are emptied free of charge. Emptying the grey container (in the rural area) for residual waste is not free. Depositing residual waste in an underground container also costs money.

Do you have a household of 5 or more people? Then you can request an extra container with an orange lid for pmd packaging from the municipality. This is free for a household of 6 or more persons.
