Are you unable to come to the polling station yourself? You may ask someone else who lives in the municipality of Aalten to vote for you. This is called authorizing someone to vote on your behalf. There are two ways to do this:

  • You fill in the back of the voting pass.
  • You are requesting a written power of attorney.

You fill out the back of the voting card

This means that you can only authorize someone who also votes in the municipality of Aalten.

  • Fill out the back of your voting card (you are a proxy).
  • You and the person you authorize (he/she is the proxy) sign your voting card.
  • This can be done up to the day of the vote.
  • The proxy will bring your voting card and a copy of your valid ID (this may be done via smartphone).
  • The proxy may only vote on your behalf at the same time as casting his/her own vote.
  • The proxy may bring a maximum of 2 proxies.

You request a written power of attorney

This is a solution if you are already abroad when you receive your voting pass. To do this, fill in form model L8. You must include this completed form with your digital application.

Request the power of attorney certificate with your DigiD; this will soon be possible via this website.

Personal request

You can also submit the form at the municipal office Hofstraat . Please bring your ID with you. The deadline for submission is March 13, 2026.

Request in writing or by email

A written request must be received by us no later than Friday, March 13, 2026. Send your email to gemeente@aalten.nl or send your letter to postbus , 7120 AC in Aalten. In both cases, please include a copy of your ID.
Please note: Request the written power of attorney in good time so that the authorized representative receives the power of attorney certificate on time. We are dependent on postal delivery for this.
