Requesting information about policy or decisions (Who request)

What is it?

If you would like to request information about municipal policy or decisions, you can submit a Who request. Who stands for the Government Information Reuse Act. This act stipulates that government information must be made public as much as possible. You are also allowed to reuse the information you receive through a Who request. You can submit a Who request to the municipality.

What to do.

You must submit the Who request to the municipality. The Who request must contain the following:

  • Your address and signature
  • The statement that this is a Who request
  • As precise a description as possible of what information you want to reuse and, if applicable, how long you want to reuse this information.
  • How you would like to receive the information

How long does it take?

You will receive a response to your request within four weeks. The municipality may extend this period by four weeks.

Objecting

  • If the municipality does not make a decision on time, you can lodge an objection with the municipality.
  • If the municipality rejects your request and you disagree with this decision, you can lodge an objection within six weeks.
