International Advisory Committee Aalten
Policy areas
The committee's task is to advise and assist the administrative bodies of the City of Bocholt and the Municipality of Aalten on matters of administrative concern assigned to the committee with an intermunicipal and international dimension. The areas of administrative responsibility include: culture, welfare and sports, spatial planning, socio-economic affairs, environmental affairs, traffic and transport, recreation and tourism, public health, public order and safety, and other topics of particular significance.
Composition
The councils of Aalten and Bocholt each appoint eight members, so that the committee consists of a total of 16 members. The council of Bocholt and the council of Aalten each appoint a chair and a deputy chair for a period of two years from among the members of the committee appointed by the respective council.
Meeting location and time
The commission meets as a rule once every 6 months or as many times as at least five members, stating their reasons, express a desire to do so. As a rule, meetings are held in the city or municipality where the presidency is located.
