International Advisory Committee Aalten-Bocholt

Policy areas

The commission's task is to advise and assist the administrative bodies of the City of Bocholt and the Municipality of Aalten on the areas of administrative concern with inter-municipal and international significance assigned to the commission. Areas of administrative concern include culture, welfare and sport, spatial planning, socio-economic affairs, environmental affairs, traffic and transport, recreation and tourism, public health, public order and security and other subjects of special significance.

Composition

The councils of Aalten and Bocholt each appoint 8 members, so that the commission consists of a total of 16 members. The Council of Bocholt and the Council of Aalten, respectively, shall each appoint a chairman and a deputy chairman from among the members of the commission appointed by the respective council for a period of two years.

Meeting location and time

The commission meets as a rule once every 6 months or as many times as at least five members, stating their reasons, express a desire to do so. As a rule, meetings are held in the city or municipality where the presidency is located.
