Investment subsidy, general
What is it?
Based on the Subsidy Policy Rules Welfare Municipality of Aalten, the municipality can provide incidental investment grants to some categories of social organizations in the costs of new construction, expansion or renovation of their own welfare accommodations.
How does it work?
Purpose of the investment grant
With an investment subsidy, the municipality wants to encourage some specific social organizations in the establishment, expansion and/or renovation of their own accommodations, which are necessary for the proper performance of the eligible activities of these grantees.
An incidental investment grant may be awarded, on application, in the form of a lump sum calculated on the basis of 50% of the investment costs deemed eligible in accordance with the specific rules governing it, of which 1/3 shall be in the form of a grant.
Size of investment grant
The investment grant to be provided depends on the number of active members/participants and is per application:
- up to €8,000 at 20 to 50 members/participants
- maximum € 20,000 at 50 to 100 members/participants
- maximum € 40,000 at 100 to 150 members/participants
- maximum € 60,000 at 150 to 200 members/participants
- maximum €80,000 at 200+ members/participants
Categories of civil society organizations
Based on the Subsidy Policy Rules of the Municipality of Aalten, in a general sense, only investment grants are eligible:
- outdoor sports clubs with their own changing facilities, in the costs of investments in changing rooms, showers and sanitary facilities, not being regular maintenance work and insofar as these changing facilities are not specifically part of privatization agreements concerning the management of the complex
- playground associations with their own bad-weather accommodations
- Youth and youth organizations with their own youth center or youth building
With the recent coming into force of the new "Subsidy Scheme for Major Maintenance of Community Houses", the investment subsidy scheme for the category of welfare organizations that manage and operate their own village or community house will cease to exist. This new subsidy scheme is aimed at maintaining the current community houses and thus no longer intended for expansion or new construction.
However, at the time the new subsidy scheme was introduced, there were still three initiatives for expansion/realization of a community center under development. For these three initiatives in Lintelo, Haart and De Heurne, a transitional period applies before 2024 and applying for the investment subsidy remains a temporary possibility.
