Choose how you'd like to receive mail from the municipality

Would you prefer to receive your mail digitally? If so, simply log in to MijnOverheid check the box
for the municipality of Aalten. You will then receive these letters in the secure Message Box on MijnOverheid of on paper. Of course, you can also continue to choose to receive paper mail. In that case, you don’t need to do anything.

With the MijnOverheid Message Box, you MijnOverheid all your municipal mail in one secure and organized place.
You decide whether you want to receive your mail digitally or on paper. You will not receive the same letter in both formats. You can change your preference at any time. Would you like to receive letters on paper again? You can easily change this setting via MijnOverheid.

Here's how to set this up

Go to MijnOverheid log in with your DigiD. In the settings, select the organizations from which you want to receive digital mail. Then check the box next to the municipality of Aalten and save the change. From that point on, you will receive your municipal mail in the secure Message Box on MijnOverheid. You will receive an email when new mail is waiting for you. 

Paper Letters Are Also Available Digitally

Many paper letters from the social services sector will now include a personal access code. This allows you to open the letter directly online, without having to log in. The access code is unique to that specific letter. Only someone who has both the letter and the corresponding code can view the digital version. This ensures that your information remains well protected. Using the digital version, you can have the letter read aloud, translated into various languages, or displayed in plain language.
