Apply for electric vehicle charging station

What is it?

Do you have an electric car but no way to charge it at home? Then you can request a public charging station. The municipality of Aalten encourages the use of electric vehicles. Electric driving is better for the environment and the living environment because no exhaust gases are released while driving. Electric cars can be charged at special charging stations. These are increasingly found at public parking lots. Public charging stations can fully charge an electric car or plug-in hybrid car within 3 to 7 hours. This is much faster than charging via a power outlet because the connection and plug are different. The municipality of Aalten is helping to build a national network of public charging stations and is collaborating with market parties to achieve this.

No charging station nearby? Apply for a charging station

It may happen that there is not yet a public charging station in your area. In that case, you can apply for a charging station here. This costs you nothing; you only pay for charging your electric car.

Applying for a charging pass

To use the charging stations, you need a charging pass. The Vattenfall InCharge charging card works on all public charging stations in the Netherlands. You apply for the charging pass here.

Quickly find charging stations nearby

There are several apps that help you find a nearby charging station. Vattenfall InCharge offers the free InCharge app. Here you can find all public charging stations. You can also see if a charging station is free and drive there directly with the built-in navigation function. Download the app.

What does it cost?

The charging stations are public and in most cases are installed free of charge. The charging stations are not owned by the municipality but are installed and operated by various (commercial) providers. Would you like to use a public charging station? Then you will need a charging card. There are various providers that offer subscriptions for this. Please note: market parties apply different charging rates and Requirements. These can be found on the websites of the market parties.

How long does it take?

You can request a public charging station for your electric car in your neighborhood. This is only possible if you are unable to install a charging station on your own property. Public charging stations are installed and operated by commercial providers. You can submit a request if you meet the Requirements in municipal policy. Go to the local regulations tab to view the installation policy for charging infrastructure in public spaces.

The municipality of Aalten has entered into a partnership with Vattenfall.

Public charging stations will be installed in our municipality in the coming years. At public charging stations of our cooperation partner Vattenfall InCharge you always charge 100% with green electricity from Dutch windmills.

Locations of charging stations

You can find all locations of public charging stations at www.oplaadpalen.nl . At the charging stations there is a blue sign with a white P and the caption "Charging electric vehicles. Only electric and hybrid cars connected to the charging station are allowed to park there. Public charging stations are not reserved for a specific license plate.

Charging point on private property

You do not need a permit for an on-site charging station. Please note that you may not reserve a public parking space or parking space on the public road for yourself for electric charging. Also, you may not post a sign that may give the impression that others may not park their cars in this spot. Facilities from the home connection over, through or under public property are also not allowed.

How is the location of the charging station determined?

A network of public charging stations will be installed in the municipality over the next few years. The municipality will decide together with Royal Haskoning and Vattenfall InCharge where a charging station will be placed. Vattenfall InCharge pays particular attention to whether there are enough charging stations. It is possible that there is not yet a charging station in your neighborhood. How many cars can charge at the charging station at the same time?

Two electric cars can charge simultaneously at one charging station.

How many parking spaces will be reserved at the charging station?

At least 2 parking spaces will always be reserved.

What should you do if a public charging station malfunctions?

Call the fault number on the charging station or report the fault via the Vattenfall InCharge app. The fault will then be fixed as soon as possible.

What can you do if the charging station is often occupied

Report this via the Vattenfall InCharge app.
