What is it?
A marketplace refers to a stall for selling goods at the weekly market in Aalten (Thursday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) or Dinxperlo (Friday afternoons from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). This may be a permanent stall or a stall for a single market day (day stall).
What do I need?
A permit for a permanent or daily stall at the weekly market in Aalten can only be granted to a legally competent natural person who is authorized to work in the Netherlands and who does not already have a permanent stall permit for that weekly market. You must be registered with the Chamber of Commerce and insured against legal liability during market trading.

How long does it take?
Thursday morning market in Aalten.
The Thursday morning market in Aalten is organized according to sector. This means that the number of market traders markt to the markt is determined per sector or product group. If a permanent stall in a particular sector becomes available, the municipal executive places an advertisement in the local newspaper, on the municipal website, and sometimes also in trade journals for itinerant trade. Interested market traders can submit an application for a permanent stall permit in response to that advertisement. The municipal executive then determines who will be awarded the stall permit on the basis of a number of selection criteria (selection system). It is not possible to be placed on a waiting list.
If a permanent stall on a particular market day is not occupied by the license holder (on a one-off basis), the market supervisor may allocate it to someone else for that day (day stall).

A permit for a marketplace (permanent stall or daily stall at the weekly market) is different from a permit for a solitary stall for the sale of goods or services. See the section on "(solitary) stalls."
Stalls at annual fairs, flea markets, and other occasional markets are also not covered. To set up a stall at these markets, you usually need permission from the relevant organizer.
