The former metal mesh weaving mill on Weversstraat part of Dinxperlo's industrial past. Due to the relocation of the Wire Weaving Dinxperlo company, this location has lost its original function. The transformation of this location into another function has been the subject of discussion for some time.

In the Center Vision Dinxperlo of 2020, the City Council confirmed the ambition for the transformation of this area. In this, the Center Vision is an important guideline for the redevelopment of this area.

Supermarket and housing

First and foremost, this former factory site is to become part of Dinxperlo’s modern supermarket offering. A brand-new supermarket can be built in one section of the area. To this end, the Jumbo on Heelweg will be relocated Heelweg this area. A new home improvement store will be built next to the supermarket. Finally, a number of residential units will be built, and the possibility of creating additional parking spaces within this area for visitors to the town center is being explored.

State of affairs

The plans for the metal mesh weaving mill site are not new and have been the subject of discussion for some time. This development requires an amendment to the environmental plan. A draft of that environmental plan amendment was available for public review until February 9, 2025. Two comments were submitted regarding this draft. These comments will serve as the basis for further discussions with the submitter(s) and for further refining the plan. The environmental plan amendment will be submitted to the city council for adoption in the fall of 2026. Once the environmental plan amendment is adopted, applications for environmental permits can then be submitted for the construction of the supermarket, the home improvement store, and the residential units. After these permits are granted, construction and development of the area can begin.
