Kloosterhof Natural Burial Ground

Surrounded by flowers, trees, and grass, the Kloosterhof Natural Burial Ground in Bredevoort offers a final resting place in nature. This area is managed as a nature reserve with a focus on tranquility, biodiversity, and natural development. The natural graves and urn graves blend into the landscape, remaining an integral part of nature. For the bereaved, it is not only a place of farewell, but also a place to return to, to walk, and to remember.

Rates

The cost of a natural burial plot is lower than at many traditional cemeteries. In addition, there are no grave maintenance fees.

Natural burial plots at the Kloosterhof Natural Burial Ground are granted for a period of 100 years. The fees include nature conservation.

Natural burial plot for 1 person with a tree €5,000
Natural burial plot for 2 people €6,000
Natural burial plot for 2 people with a tree €7,000
Natural urn burial plot for 50 years €1,500

Tree species

When you choose a grave with a tree, you can choose from one of the following trees:

  • Black pine (Pinus nigra)
  • Silver birch (Betula pendula)
  • Silver linden (Tilia tomentosa)

If the tree does not take root within the first two years, it will be replaced free of charge.

Memorial

As a grave marker, you can place a tree stump with an inscription on the grave. The cost for this is €150.

The municipality will provide the tree disc. An appointment will be scheduled for its installation in consultation with the next of kin. The tree disc has a diameter of approximately 40 cm and is about 3 cm thick. It can accommodate up to 30 characters.
To preserve the natural appearance of the natural burial ground, the placement of (artificial) flowers or other loose decorations is not permitted.
