New coalition presents agreement: “Strong Together for the Municipality of Aalten”
Negotiators from the CDA, GemeenteBelangen, and the Progressive Party +PRO (formerly the Progressive Party / GroenLinks) have reached an agreement on a new coalition agreement for the municipality of Aalten. This agreement ensures the continuation of the current coalition. Under the title “Strong Together for the Municipality of Aalten,” the parties are presenting a realistic plan that builds on the current approach and addresses current issues surrounding important social challenges.

With this agreement, the coalition is committing to administrative engagement, local connection, and continuity. By deliberately opting for a broad-outline agreement, both the city council and residents are given the flexibility to jointly further shape plans in the coming period.
The coalition is focusing on the challenges that are currently important to the municipality of Aalten, including sufficient and affordable housing, investments in a community where residents participate and look out for one another, and a healthy and realistic budget.
Proud of the result
The negotiators look back with pride on an intensive but constructive process.
On behalf of GemeenteBelangen, Susanne Peters says: “With this agreement, we are continuing to focus on cooperation, realism, and a strong future for the municipality of Aalten, while paying attention to the needs of our villages and towns.”
Petra Hoezen of the Progressive Party +PRO: “For us, this agreement provides a solid foundation for continuing our efforts in the coming years to build a social, inclusive, green, and future-proof municipality, with a focus on everyone who wants to participate and move forward.”
Raimond Smit (CDA): “The challenges facing the municipality of Aalten call for cooperation and trust. With this agreement, we are demonstrating that differences in political affiliation need not stand in the way of shared responsibility. We have chosen to focus on what unites us: the interests of our residents and the future of our municipality.”
The coalition parties look forward with confidence to constructive cooperation with the community, the city council, and the city administration.
