Support for family caregivers
What is it?
Informal caregivers provide long-term, unpaid care for a family member or acquaintance who needs help. This usually involves caring for persons with a long-term illness, disability or advanced age.
If you are caring for someone else you can ask if you can be helped and guided to perform this difficult task.
What to do.
Figulus Welfare
With its local support center, Figulus offers help to family caregivers. This can involve social/emotional support, help with practical matters or organizational tasks, or the deployment of a trained volunteer to take over the care for a while. For more information on informal care support, please contact the informal care advisor of Figulus.
GGNet
Family caregivers of people with psychiatric disabilities can additionally receive support from GGNet. Learn more about GGNet's support offerings.
As a family caregiver, make timely use of support options. If a family caregiver gathers sufficient support around them in a timely manner, overburdening can be prevented!
