Recreational home occupancy

What is it?

A recreational home is intended for recreational use. Therefore, you may not live there permanently (permanently).

The tense situation in the housing market has led to temporary occupancy being allowed in certain situations.

How does it work?

Temporary occupancy of recreational properties shall be permitted [with the granting of an environmental permit] in those cases where:

  1. a renovation or calamity;
  2. A bridging period between the sale of one home and the completion of the other home;
  3. of a divorce, termination of a registered partnership or other form of dissolution of a long-term relationship is in need of temporary housing.

The scheme is only open to residents of the municipality of Aalten, but in certain cases future residents can also apply for it.

These are mostly solitary recreational homes in rural areas. On the recreation parks, a limited number of homes may be used for this purpose. In this way, the recreational aspect remains leading on the parks. Permission is also required from the owners of the recreational homes or park operators.

Those involved are expected -if applicable- to actively seek suitable permanent housing. In fact, occupancy will only be allowed for a period of 1.5 years and will not be extended.
