Regular toddler care, subsidy scheme for parents without entitlement to childcare allowance

What is it?

The municipality of Aalten has introduced the "Subsidy scheme for toddler care and pre-school and early childhood education in the municipality of Aalten 2022" for parents who wish to make use of regular toddler care but are not entitled to childcare allowance from the tax authorities.

How does it work?

If your toddler attends regular preschool at a childcare provider registered with the National Childcare Register in the municipality of Aalten and you are not eligible for childcare allowance, you can apply for a municipal subsidy.

Based on this regulation you can receive an allowance for the costs of regular nursery care for your child as long as he or she is between 2 and 4 years old and does not yet attend elementary school. This allowance is equal to the childcare allowance to which you would be entitled according to the childcare allowance table of the Belastingdienst (Tax and Customs Administration) based on your aggregate income.

The child care provider will apply for the subsidy from the municipality and deduct it from your bill.

To do so, you must submit the form "parent declaration with income information" to your child care organization. Through this parent declaration you declare that you have no right to child allowance or a limited right. You can request the form from your childcare organization or from the municipality.
