Placing temporary object in public space
What is it?
If you want to temporarily use municipal land for such purposes as storing construction materials or erecting scaffolding or a container, you must apply for an exemption from the municipality. If the municipality agrees, it will remain the owner of the land, but you will be granted the right to use the land temporarily for a specified purpose.
What to do.
You ask the municipality if you may use the land. When doing so, provide the following information:
- The reason for which you want to use the land;
- Location;
- The start and end dates of when you want to use the land;
- A situation sketch of the land.
Directly arrange
You can apply online for use of municipal land. In the Environment Counter, choose the activity "Place construction material, container or other temporary object" when you perform the permit check. Are you submitting the application directly without performing the permit check? Then choose the activity "Store movable property".

- The object must be highly visible day and night, including through the installation of retro-reflective strips and possibly lighting.
- If the usability of the public space is obstructed by the materials, you must take the traffic measures specified by us.
- If demonstrable damage to public space is caused by the placement of the materials, it will be at your expense.
- Safety for road users should always be ensured.
- In principle, sufficient space should be left free for pedestrians and wheelchair users.
- The site must be left in its original condition after completion.
- All directions and orders given by the police and/or municipality in the interest of public order and/or safety must be obeyed punctually and immediately.
