Future-proof housing loan

What is it?

With this scheme, the Municipality of Aalten wants to support residents in taking sustainable measures in and on their homes. Homeowners can borrow money at an attractive interest rate to make their homes more future-proof. The province of Gelderland has developed the Future-proof Living Loan and contributes half of the budget. The other half comes from the municipality of Aalten.

Eligible measures:

  • energy conservation and generation (think insulation, solar panels, heat pump)
  • Life-course adaptability (e.g., bathroom and bedroom on the first floor, improved accessibility to the home)
  • Quality improvement (for example, renovating an outdated bathroom)
  • demolition of an impoverished shed, for example
  • foundation repair and asbestos remediation
  • participation and investment in collective or cooperative, renewable energy generation (post-coder box scheme)

You can use the loan only for existing homes and if you have not yet started the work. The condition for all loans is that you must implement at least one energy-saving or energy-generating measure.
