Reporting foster child care
What is it?
If you are caring for and raising a foster child for an extended period of time, you must report this to the municipality. This also applies to institutions that care for and raise foster children.
How does it work?
- The municipality assesses what assistance and Health is Health for the child.
- If this is foster care and you are not yet an official foster parent, an assessment will be made to determine whether you are suitable as a foster parent. This is done by a foster care organization.
- The foster care organization will request a statement of no objection from the Child Protection Board on your behalf.
- If you are approved to become a foster parent for the child, you may receive compensation. You will also receive support from the foster care organization.
More information about becoming a foster parent can be found at Foster Care.
What to do.
