Volunteer
If you would like to do volunteer work or are looking for volunteers, please visit the Volunteer Service Point at . Here you will find all the information you need about volunteer work in Aalten. The Volunteer Service Point also provides advice on volunteer work and social internships.
Volunteer Insurance
When you do volunteer work, you are not always properly insured. That is why the municipality of Aalten has taken out volunteer insurance for all volunteers. This means you are automatically insured. This means that you are insured if you have an accident or cause damage.
Volunteer insurance is a second (secondary) coverage. This means that your own liability insurance, or that of the institution for which you perform activities, always takes precedence over the municipality's volunteer insurance. It is also called a "safety net" insurance policy. We recommend that you do not cancel your own insurance.
Who is insured
Every volunteer is insured with the municipality's volunteer insurance. It does not matter how old you are, what kind of volunteer work you do or how often you do it. Even if you do a social internship, you are insured.
If you volunteer with the fire department or police, you are not insured through this insurance.
Damage
You cause damage or have an accident while volunteering. Then fill out the damage form. Submit this form to the municipality.
