The Achterhoek Employment Center helps residents of Aalten find work and access training
At some point, many people find themselves with questions about work or education. Sometimes it’s because you’re looking for a new job, sometimes because you want to advance your career, or because you’re unsure whether your current job is still a good fit for you. You may also want to retrain but aren’t sure where to start. The Werkcentrum Achterhoek is here to help with all of these situations. The Werkcentrum is a regional partnership between municipalities, the UWV, educational institutions, and employers. The goal is simple: to help residents take steps that align with their talents, wishes, and opportunities. Without complicated procedures, without barriers.

Walk-in consultation hours every Tuesday in Aalten and Dinxperlo
To make things as easy as possible for you, the Werkcentrum is available every Tuesday at two locations in our municipality:
- Dinxperlo, Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Library, Nieuwstraat
- Aalten, Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., City Hall, Hofstraat

What can you expect?
At the Werkcentrum, you’ll meet with an advisor who takes the time to listen to you. Someone who listens, thinks along with you, and works with you to figure out which path is right for you. This might involve:
- finding suitable work;
- exploring opportunities in another sector;
- getting back into a work routine after spending time at home;
- training or continuing education;
- advance in your current job;
- Practical questions about applying for a job or writing a resume.
Our consultants have a deep understanding of the regional job market and know what opportunities are available. This gives you access to a wealth of knowledge and support, all in one place.
