As of May 1, 2022, the Open Government Act (Wob) is set to expire and be replaced by the Open Government Act (Woo). The premise of the Woo is that government information is public. Anyone can submit a request for disclosure of certain government information: the so-called Woo request. In this way, residents can gain more insight into the actions of the municipality.

Under the Woo, information must be provided unless one of the law's grounds for exemption applies. No information is provided if it could damage the security of the State, if it concerns business and manufacturing data that have been confidentially disclosed to the government by natural or legal persons, or if it concerns personal data. In addition, there are a number of grounds where a balancing of interests must be made. The question is then whether the interest of disclosure outweighs the interest mentioned in the law. These include, for example, respect for personal privacy. There is also legislation to which the Woo does not apply. This legislation is listed in the appendix to the Woo.
