After the discussions, the King's Commissioner visited the National Hiding Museum in Aalten. Together with the mayor and several aldermen, he was given a tour of the renovated museum. The group was welcomed by Gerda Brethouwer and Marijke Verschoor-Boele, whoexplainedthe plans for the future. They also emphasized the important role of the museum in keeping alive the stories of people in hiding and the resistance during the Second World War. This is particularly relevant given the current challenge of providing shelter for refugees.

Mayor Stapelkamp looks back on a successful day: "During this working visit, not only were the administrative issues of today discussed, but also the importance of keeping our history alive. The National Museum of the Secret Annex shows how valuable it is to pass on the past to new generations. Nice to hear from the Commissioner also the appreciation for our efforts in many areas."
