Municipality enthusiastic about plans for Slingeplas - 't Broock

In Bredevoort, a plan has been made for the Slingeplas and 't Broock by the working group De Slingeplas. Moving the sports fields toward the Slingeplas will create space for housing at the current location of the sports park. There will also be more opportunities for recreation at the Slingeplas. The municipal executive committee is enthusiastic about the plans and wants to develop them further.
The plan calls for a total of 82 new homes, some for first-time buyers and seniors. At the Slingeplas, the plan includes additional RV parking spaces and new padel and tennis courts. Furthermore, the plan pays much attention to nature and landscape and old elements such as the moat are restored.
Strong support for the plan
Associations, organizations and residents worked together to create the plan. Among others Bredevoorts Belang, Sports Association Bredevoort and vacation park De Twee Bruggen are in the working group De Slingeplas. The plan was presented to the residents of Bredevoort at the end of last year and can count on a lot of support. Subsequently, the plan was officially handed over to the municipality of Aalten and enthusiastic noises can be heard there as well. Alderman Ted Kok: "A wonderful ambition for the livability of Bredevoort and future prospects for the Slingeplas. Nice that so many people in Bredevoort thought along. We would like to work together with the city on the next step. In the coming years we will have our hands full to come to fruition".
Feasibility
Such a large plan costs a lot of money. That's why the municipality commissioned a feasibility study. It appears to be possible to save costs, especially by replacing a number of bridges with culverts. The municipality wants to work out this variant together with the working group De Slingeplas. The Rijn and IJssel Water Board is also involved because the Slingeplas is very important for our water management. Only after the plans have been worked out will it be decided whether they will actually be implemented.
Next Step
The College of Mayor and Aldermen is in favor of further development of the plans. Therefore, the results of the study will be presented to the city council and the council will be asked to approve the further elaboration of the plans. The council will decide on this at the end of November.
