Landscape Development
Working together to build our landscape!
The Landscape Development Plan (LDP) for the municipality of Aalten was adopted by the City Council on November 20, 2007.
Residents involved in creation of LDP
Six evenings were organized for the creation of the LDP, during which residents were given the opportunity to participate in discussions, to contribute possible projects and to make a choice for the future working method. At the start of the drafting of the LDP, a Sounding Board Group was composed of 12 representatives of various interest groups from the municipality. In four meetings, this Sounding Board Group critically monitored the drafting of the LDP and made adjustments where necessary.
Not a threat but an opportunity
In the Landscape Development Plan created in this way, a development vision is established and a program is included to achieve the goals. Characteristic for the municipality is the agricultural cultural landscape. New plans and initiatives must be designed in such a way that they contribute to maintaining, restoring and improving this agricultural cultural landscape. The LDP should be used to finance and implement projects that are related to landscape functions, such as water management, nature and characteristic identity, but also recreation, tourism and improvement of economic opportunities to maintain the cultural landscape.
Components LOP
The overall LDP consists of three parts namely:
- a basic report;
- an implementation program;
- landscape ensembles by subarea.
The entire LOP can be requested from the municipality.
