Rural Development

A rural area where everyone enjoys living, working, and/or spending their leisure time. This is what the municipality of Aalten wants to work on together with you.

We have an active policy to keep the countryside attractive for its various functions. This policy is contained in the landscape development plan and the rural development policy memorandum, among others. We work to preserve and strengthen the characteristic small-scale landscape and the forest and nature areas. In addition, we want to offer space and development opportunities for (agricultural) businesses. Moreover, people must be able to live and recreate in the outlying area.

In implementing our rural policy, we work together with various interested groups and organizations. Within the municipality of Aalten, the SAAP Foundation (Samenwerkend Actief Aaltens Platteland, or Active Cooperation in Rural Aalten) is active, bringing together many different interests and interest groups. The SAAP is directly involved in municipal policy and in the implementation of projects.
