Roadside treats
The municipality of Aalten offers a rich variety of delicious local products, sourced directly from farmers or traditionally prepared in the local area. From fresh fruit and vegetables to dairy products, meat, honey, jam, eggs, and even locally brewed beer: you can find it all in farm shops and roadside stalls, often closer than you might think.
The new brochure 'Lekkers langs de weg' (Tasty treats along the way) shows at a glance where twenty of these tasty addresses are located. This makes the brochure a handy tool for anyone who consciously chooses local products or is looking for a special stop during a walk or bike ride through the municipality.
"Our area has many great places that offer a wide variety of local products," says Corine Lankhof, tourism coordinator for Aalten. "Tourists love the charming stalls and sales outlets along the route. It is precisely this kind of authenticity that makes the Aalten area so special."
Locally sourced, sustainable, and Health with Health in mind
Not only tourists enjoy shopping at the stalls, but residents of the municipality are also increasingly choosing delicious and honest products from the local area. Buying directly from the producers supports farmers and producers in their own region. What's more, the chain from farm to table is greatly shortened. Many products are packaging-free and produced with Health passion, without any extra steps in between. This contributes to a more sustainable food chain and at the same time ensures extra flavor and quality.
