Roadside treats
The municipality of Aalten offers a rich variety of (h)honest regional products, straight from the farmer or artisanally prepared in their own environment. From fresh fruits and vegetables to dairy, meat, honey, jams, eggs and even locally brewed beer: in farm stores and roadside stalls you can find it all and often closer than you think.
The new leaflet "Tasty along the way" shows at a glance where twenty of these tasty addresses are located. This makes the leaflet a handy tool for anyone who consciously chooses local products or is looking for a special stop during a walk or bike ride through the municipality.
"Our area has many nice addresses offering a variety of regional products," says Corine Lankhof, tourism coordinator Aalten. "Among tourists, the charming stalls and outlets on the route are popular. It is exactly this kind of authenticity that makes the Aalten area so special."
Local, sustainable and produced with care
Not only tourists enjoy using the stalls, residents of the municipality are also increasingly choosing (h)honest products from the neighborhood. Those who buy directly from the makers support farmers and producers from their own region. Moreover, the chain from farmer to plate is greatly shortened. Many products are packaging-free and produced with care and passion, without extra intermediate steps. This contributes to a more sustainable food chain while adding flavor and quality.

Invitation to local producers
Regional producers in the municipality of Aalten who do not yet have their outlet on this map are invited to apply. By participating in this local food network, they not only increase their visibility, but also contribute to strengthening regional cooperation and promoting regional products throughout the region.
