Shed in Dinxperlo locked after drug discovery

Mayor Stapelkamp ordered Wednesday, April 9, a shed on the Meniststraat in Dinxperlo, to be closed for three months after drugs were found there. 

During a raid on April 7, police found a large quantity of drugs in the warehouse in question on the Meniststraat in Dinxperlo. Several suspects were arrested. The police investigation is still ongoing.

Closure for three months

On Wednesday, April 9, the mayor closed the property in question for a period of three months. With the closure of the premises, the mayor wants to nullify the role and prominence of this premises in the drug trade and send the signal that the observed facts are unacceptable. Through this measure, a repetition of this serious disturbance of public order is prevented and the mayor wants to bring peace to the immediate vicinity of the premises. 

Mayor Stapelkamp: "The closure is a clear signal that I want to keep drug crime out of our municipality. I urge residents to report it if they see anything suspicious. Whether it's suspicions of a hemp nursery or a lab for synthetic drugs. We do not want these illegal practices, nor the risks they pose to public order and safety."
