New recreational homes at 't Walfort in Aalten
Mayor and aldermen have adopted a new spatial plan for recreation area 't Walfort in Aalten. On the approximately 6-hectare site, the mobile homes will be replaced by 116 climate-neutral recreational homes. The park will have an open character and the homes will range from 2- to 6-person cottages. Landal Greenparcs will manage and rent the park. Before work can begin, an environmental permit must first be granted.

Alderman Ted Kok is enthusiastic about the plan: "The new vacation park is an asset to the municipality of Aalten. This park is located in the National Landscape, amidst the qualities for which the Achterhoek is so renowned. It is the ideal place for visitors to discover Aalten, the Achterhoek and the border area with Germany. I also expect that our local entrepreneurs will benefit from this. I see it as an important quality impulse for the municipality. It will strengthen the recreational sector considerably."
After a long period of preparation, the new plan could be adopted for 't Walfort. Good discussions were held with the residents in the immediate vicinity. Many comments have been incorporated into the plan, including the construction of only one entrance/exit (and thus the adjustment of the routing on the grounds), limited lighting of the grounds and a robust green zone on the outside of the grounds. The entrance to the park will remain on Walfort Avenue.
Changes already visible
The metamorphosis of the site is gradually already becoming visible. The mobile homes and other recreational facilities have recently been removed, the site has been partially leveled, and last season the landscaping of the periphery has already been largely completed.
Enjoying greenery and tranquility
Landal focuses on the quality of the park itself and the experiential value of the surroundings; recreationists who want to explore the green and peaceful surroundings and enjoy all the good things the East Achterhoek has to offer. This focus makes the park suitable for different target groups. In particular, nature lovers and people looking for a quiet stay are considered. Another advantage is the proximity of swimming pool 't Walfort. It is expected that both functions will reinforce each other.
Employment
The new recreation park is also good for local employment. In total, the park will soon offer employment to about 30 people, whom Landal Greenparcs plans to recruit in the region.
