Support from the Social Support Act (Wmo)

The Social Support Act (Wmo) is intended for residents who, due to illness and/or disability, need support to live independently and participate in society.

The Wmo is intended as a safety net. The municipality only offers support when you are unable to resolve the issue yourself. The municipality always investigates what you have tried to do yourself to resolve your request for assistance. It also investigates whether family or your social network can help you. The Vraag & Advies Team Aalten (VAT Aalten) can help you come up with ideas.

Reporting and investigation

Are you unable to resolve the issue yourself or with the people around you? Then you can report it to the municipality. The municipality will then investigate, and you will usually be invited to a kitchen table meeting. During this meeting, we will assess whether support is necessary and, if so, what kind. An independent client support worker can help you with this.

You can use the form below to submit an online request for a Wmo provision.
