Puzzling together

The Omgevingswet us to consider everything that plays a role in the quality of our living environment when thinking about its future. This includes health and safety, as these also place demands on the living environment and its design.

All sorts of things must therefore be taken into account in the creation of the new environmental vision. Therefore, making a new environmental vision will be primarily a "puzzle" and will be quite difficult. For example, because opinions and interests differ, because wishes differ from each other or because different priorities are seen. After all, what one person considers important may be unimportant to another, and vice versa.

It is also already clear that, due to all kinds of laws and regulations, we are not "free" to put the puzzle together entirely as we see fit. We live in a society, which by definition means taking each other and nature into account. Moreover, every municipality has limited financial resources, so not everything is possible. We must and want to remain honest about this. But we would like to work with you to fill the space we do have, in a way that suits the area and what the residents of Aalten consider important for the future of that area.

The final decision on the new environmental vision will be made by the Aalten municipal council, as is customary in our democracy. However, we can submit proposals to the municipal council, and that is precisely what we intend to do together with you.
