Puzzling together

The Environment Act wants us to consider everything that plays a role in the quality of our living environment. And that we also consider health and safety, because these too place demands on the living environment and its design.

All sorts of things must therefore be taken into account in the creation of the new environmental vision. Therefore, making a new environmental vision will be primarily a "puzzle" and will be quite difficult. For example, because opinions and interests differ, because wishes differ from each other or because different priorities are seen. After all, what one person considers important may be unimportant to another, and vice versa.

It is also already established that we are not "free" to put the puzzle together completely as we see fit due to all sorts of laws and regulations. We live in a society and by definition that means consideration for each other and for nature. Moreover, every municipality has to deal with limited financial resources, so by no means everything is possible. We should and want to remain honest about that. But the space we do have, we would like to fill in together with you, fitting the area and fitting what the inhabitants of Aalten find important for the future of that area.

The final word on the new environmental vision will soon be up to the Aalten City Council, because that's how it works in our democracy. But we can make proposals to the City Council and that is exactly what we want to do together with you.
