Reimbursement of deductible health care costs

You pay an excess for medical expenses that are reimbursed under your basic health insurance. If you are on a low income (up to 120% of the social assistance standard), you can apply to the municipality of Aalten for a partial reimbursement of the excess.

For 2024 (and also for the coming year), the government has set the deductible at a maximum of €385 per (adult) person. You always pay the first €100 yourself. If you have to pay more, the municipality of Aalten will reimburse you for half of that amount. The reimbursement you receive is therefore a maximum of €142.50 per person per year (€385 - €100 = €285. Half of €285 = €142.50).

Requesting reimbursement

You can apply for reimbursement using a form on our website: www.aalten.nl/bijzondere-bijstand-zorgkosten. If you are unable to complete the form, please request assistance from the Humanitas Form Brigade. They are available every Tuesday at the Kulturhus Dinxperlo, Maurits Prinsstraat (from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.) and at the Ahof, Polstraat in Aalten (from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.). You can just walk in. No appointment is necessary.
