Reduce chances of residential burglary
There have been several residential burglaries in the Achterhoek region recently. Unfortunately, this also includes Aalten and Dinxperlo. The number of residential burglaries has increased particularly in Dinxperlo.

On Friday afternoon, January 24, police and municipal enforcement officers from the municipality of Aalten conducted a "white feet campaign." The aim of this campaign was to make residents aware of the risks of burglary. Between 4:00 and 6:30 p.m., five police officers and five municipal enforcement officers went out in Dinxperlo. They checked various homes to see if doors and windows were properly closed and if gates and sheds were locked.
If this was not the case, they left a 'white footprint': a flyer with the text 'This shoe print could have been left by a burglar'. It was striking that some residents, despite being at home, did not notice the officers walking through their gardens. This emphasizes the importance of being alert and locking doors and windows properly, even when you are at home.
"A residential burglary has a great impact on the sense of security. Every opportunity for burglars is therefore one too many," said Mayor Anton Stapelkamp. "Together with the police, we are committed to making residents aware to take measures against burglars and break-ins."
