Which structures fall under consequence class 1?

The Wkb does not immediately apply to all structures, but first to structures that fall under consequence class 1. Below you can read which structures these are.

• Ordinary houses, also with garage or home office
• Vacation rentals
• Commercial buildings with up to 2 floors, including small office or canteen
• Additions to other buildings of up to 2 floors, for example, a warehouse at a store
• Small bicycle and pedestrian bridges of up to 20 meters that do not cross a major roadway
• Houseboats
• Other structures not exceeding 20 meters in height, such as masts and antennas

Moreover, from January 1, 2024, the Wkb will only apply to new construction. Only from 2025 is the Wkb expected to apply to remodeling as well. The Wkb does not apply, for example, to monuments and construction projects with specific permits.
