Alderman Hans te Lindert leaves the municipality of Aalten

Alderman Hans te Lindert (CDA) has decided to resign his position as alderman of the municipality of Aalten at the end of April. This is because he has accepted a new position outside municipal politics, as rector of Christelijk College Schaersvoorde in Aalten.

In a response, Alderman Te Lindert says:
"After careful consideration, I have chosen to step down as alderman and take on a new challenge. A choice that does not come lightly to me. For the past seven years I have worked with great pleasure and passion for our municipality and its residents. I am grateful for the trust I have received and for the cooperation with the mayor, fellow aldermen, the city council and the civil servants."

Mayor Stapelkamp, on behalf of the College of Mayor and Aldermen, reacts to the alderman's departure:
"As the College of the Municipality of Aalten, we have noted with mixed feelings the appointment of our colleague Hans te Lindert as the new rector of Christelijk College Schaersvoorde. Mixed because Hans has been an able and valued colleague for the past seven years. He has contributed greatly to the college being a close and ambitious team these years. On the other hand, we grant Hans te Lindert this fine position at the school where he himself was once a student. And we congratulate Schaersvoorde on their choice of a true Aalten educationist. The college wishes both Hans and the school much success in the coming years."

Education portfolio reinvested

In order to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest, Alderman Te Lindert's entire education portfolio will be assumed immediately by Aldermen Ted Kok and Joop Wikkerink.

New alderman

It is up to the CDA group to find a replacement for Hans te Lindert.
