Age limit for pre-mantle care home lowered

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen decided to lower the minimum age for a pre-mantle care home from 70 years to the state pension age. The current state pension age is 67.

Since October 2022, residents of the municipality of Aalten aged 70 and older have been allowed to install a pre-mantelzorgwoning (pre-care home) next to their own home or in part of their main home. This was previously referred to as a levensloop-/zorgwoning (lifecycle/care home). In practice, the municipality regularly receives requests to install a pre-informal care home from residents who are not yet 70 years of age. The municipal executive has therefore decided to lower the age limit to the state pension age.

Pre-care home

The pre-informal care home is the precursor to the informal care home. An informal care home must provide intensive Health. This is not a requirement for a pre-informal care home. For many residents, this offers an attractive solution for living close to each other and caring for each other when necessary.

Requirements

A temporary environmental permit is required to install a pre-mantle care home. If issued, it is valid for a period of up to 10 years. It may be that the pre-mantle care home turns into an unlicensed informal care home. If the pre-mantle care home is needed for longer than 10 years, a new permit must be applied for.
