Age limit for pre-mantle care home lowered
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen decided to lower the minimum age for a pre-mantle care home from 70 years to the state pension age. The current state pension age is 67.

Since October 2022, residents of the municipality of Aalten aged 70 and older have been allowed to place a pre-mantle care home next to their own home or in part of the main home itself. This was previously called a lifetime/care home. In practice, the municipality regularly receives requests to place a pre-mantle care home from residents who are not yet 70 years old. The college has therefore decided to lower the age limit to the state pension age.
Pre-care home
The pre-mantle care home is the precursor to the informal care home. An informal care home requires intensive care. With a pre-care home, this is not required. This provides a great solution for many residents to live near each other and care for each other when needed.
Terms
A temporary environmental permit is required to install a pre-mantle care home. If issued, it is valid for a period of up to 10 years. It may be that the pre-mantle care home turns into an unlicensed informal care home. If the pre-mantle care home is needed for longer than 10 years, a new permit must be applied for.
